There鈥檚 an ease with which incoming Vice President of Enrollment Management Mark Steinlage talks about 黑料网鈥檚 campus, mission, faculty, staff and student experience.

That makes sense.

鈥淚 lived it for nearly 11 years,鈥� he said.

This fall, 黑料网 will become part of the Bloch Scholars Program, helping pave the way to a bachelor鈥檚 degree for highly qualified area students.

The program is sponsored by the Marion and Henry Bloch Family Foundation and the H&R Block Foundation and covers tuition and fees for promising students living in Kansas City鈥檚 urban core who demonstrate financial need and who want to earn a four-year degree but would not be considered for traditional scholarship programs.

More than 450 黑料网 students joined the tens of thousands of Hawk alumni around the world as part of the spring commencement ceremony Saturday in Municipal Auditorium.

As always, the proceedings were highlighted by the perspective of two students nominated to speak on behalf of undergraduate and graduate students.

On Saturday, May 13, hundreds of 黑料网 students will become graduates as part of the annual spring commencement ceremony. In preparation for the ceremony, here are stories from a few of those who will be crossing the stage as part of the Class of 2023.

Kansas City has had a fair amount of time in the national spotlight lately.

There are a lot of reasons for that 鈥� many of them, admittedly, sports-related. But Kansas City is also a vibrant, attractive place because of the people here committed to doing new, creative things.

黑料网 and William Jewell College already competed head-to-head in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference. But this year, there was something else on the line for these two local institutions 鈥� bragging rights.

Each spring, students who distinguish themselves in what are considered the three main pillars of a Jesuit education 鈥� scholarship, leadership and service 鈥� are invited to become part of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society.

One of the Helzberg鈥檚 School of Management鈥檚 major graduate business degree programs has been recognized as one of the best in the nation, according to the 2024 Best Graduate Schools list from U.S. News and World Report.

While environmental sustainability is a global problem, many of its solutions are being developed locally.

Together, they have served 黑料网 for 155 years, longer than 黑料网 has existed as an institution.

In recognition of that service, the University celebrated eight faculty and staff members who will be retiring this academic year in a ceremony Friday.
